The Gospel of John is one of the most compelling and inspiring writings in the New Testament. John spent three incredible years personally walking with Jesus, hearing His words, witnessing His miracles, and experiencing His love firsthand. In this Gospel, John doesn’t simply retell events; he reveals the heart of Jesus. While he doesn’t repeat everything found in the other Gospels (Matthew, 24 Mark, and Luke), John’s writing is filled with rich imagery and symbolism. He connects the changing seasons, the festivals of Israel, and the experiences of everyday people to the words and works of Jesus.
John wrote this Gospel near the end of his life, around AD 85–90, many years after Jesus’s death and resurrection. By that time, the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke were already well known. John’s purpose wasn’t to add or to retell but to help us see Jesus in a fuller, deeper way.
As we journey through this Gospel together, we’ll look at Jesus’s miracles, His words of truth, and the lives He touched. We’ll listen to the testimonies of those who met Him and reflect on the prophecies fulfilled through Him. Through it all, John shows us how Jesus perfectly fulfills the promises of the Old Testament. Through his eyes, we catch a deep and personal glimpse of who Jesus really is, and all of it points to one unshakable truth.
