The Gospel of John is one of the most compelling and inspiring books in the New Testament. John spent three incredible years walking alongside Jesus—hearing His words, witnessing His miracles, and experiencing His love firsthand. In this Gospel, John does more than simply recount events; he reveals the heart of Jesus.
Rather than repeating everything found in the other Gospels—Matthew, Mark, and Luke—John fills his writing with rich imagery and symbolism. He connects the changing seasons, the festivals of Israel, and the experiences of everyday people to the words and works of Jesus.
John wrote this Gospel near the end of his life, around AD 85–90, many years after Jesus’s death and resurrection. By that time, the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke were already widely known. John’s purpose was not merely to add another account, but to help us see Jesus in a fuller and deeper way.
As we journey through this Gospel together, we will explore Jesus’s miracles, His words of truth, and the lives He transformed. We will listen to the testimonies of those who encountered Him and reflect on the prophecies fulfilled through Him. Throughout it all, John shows us how Jesus perfectly fulfills the promises of the Old Testament.
Through John’s eyes, we catch a profound and personal glimpse of who Jesus truly is, and every page points to one unshakable truth: Jesus is the Son of God, the promised Messiah, and the source of eternal life for all who believe in Him.
